Outsourcing and Nigeria

· Through a number of our class reading, we are aware that outsourcing is extremely popular in countries such as India and China, but when looking at Nigeria, and even Africa as a whole, Outsourcing is not yet evident. With the many economic problems that Africa in general is facing, outsourcing would be a wonderful opportunity for the many citizens in both the areas of personal gain and overall economic progression. It would provide jobs and thus increase family income, which would in the large-scale scheme of things, would decrease poverty, increase health and education. With as many benefits outsourcing helps to produce, I personally think that it will be a long way until that actually occurs. India and China are perfect models for outsourcing because they have the vast populations to adhere to it, without a lot of political and economical “drama”, such as genocides, famine, AIDs epidemic, political and religious instability, and lack of education to name a few. Countries such as India and China also have the mass technological means needed to outsource. It believe that once Nigeria and the continent of Africa has reached the economic and technological stage, as China and India have already done, their chances of bringing outsourcing to Nigeria and neighboring countries would be greater.
